Keypad
Posted on December 29, 2020
This is my first keyboard project, and I am excited that it works! I made a 4x3 USB keypad – this is what it can do:
- Function as a keyboard, configurable in the firmware
- Function as a typist, sending key sequences with configurable delays between them
The circuit board was designed in KiCad and I had the smallest possible batch manufactured. The controller is the cheapest “blue pill” type of STM32 board that I could find that didn’t take weeks to deliver.
So far it seems to work nicely after some setup and re-wiring issues.
- Controller
- Blue pill type STM32 board
- Keys
- Gateron Brown switches
- Keycaps
- Leftovers from a keycap set that I was using for my regular keyboard
There is more to come, stay tuned!
